SESO® Zerodur mirrors can be lightweighted by removing up to 80% of their mass, using proprietary designs and processes. This technology is usefull in Space where mass has a cost for the launch of the satellite, and in Astronomy where the mirrors are sometimes so large that they can be deformed by their own weight.
